We have been working with the fabulous luxury wedding venue Hotel Du Vin in the city centre of Birmingham for many years now, so we were really pleased to be asked to photograph Ruth and Gareth’s beautiful Jubilee Bank Holiday Wedding there. As a wedding venue, Hotel Du Vin is great – it has an intimate feel to it, and has a really definite character. We have always had such a warm welcome, and the staff are always attentive.
Ruth and Gareth’s wedding was on the Monday Bank Holiday on the Jubilee weekend, and the wedding really made a great weekend just a bit more special. I met Ruth as she was getting ready with her friends and family, which gave me a chance to also get some shots of her gorgeous dress, and not forgetting of course the lovely Louboutin shoes. I also like to make sure I am getting photos of the individual touches to their day, such as the flowers (who had been done by an friend of Ruth’s). After the ceremony the guests went into the courtyard for drinks, and thankfully the dodgy weather held off so we were also able to venture out on to the city streets for some slightly different group shots as well, before spending some time in and around the hotel with just Ruth and Gareth to get photographs of just the two of them.
