I was asked by Danielle at Edge Creative to go to the launch of the new Birmingham Metropolitan College on Tuesday – the merger of Sutton College and Matthew Boulton College. I had given Kat strict instructions not to give birth during that time, and headed into the city to meet near the Hyatt. Some corporate work I do can be fairly formulaic, but this certainly wasn’t. The launch started with 40 students in period costumes and three men painted gold to look like the Matthew Boulton statue in town. From there we headed back to the MB campus, for some speeches, fireworks and a performance by Britain’s Got Talent winners, Diversity, all followed by a tea party and chocolate frenzy…
It was a spectacular launch event, and Danielle (who was organising the PR) got some great coverage. Photos of the event are appearing in various papers around the city.
